OA is a private Christian boarding high school located in Harrah, Oklahoma. It is affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church but is run independently. It provides a comprehensive educational program that integrates spiritual, academic, and physical development.
The motto of Oklahoma Academy is ‘workers for the harvest’ which is derived from Matthew 9: 38 “Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his harvest.” KJV. Thus it is the goal of Oklahoma Academy to help each student maximize their potential as a worker for God in preparing the world for His soon return.
Oklahoma Academy was established in 1981 with the mission of offering quality education within a Christian context. Over the years, it has grown from a small school to a well-respected institution known for its strong academic programs and commitment to the values of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
The campus of Oklahoma Academy is situated on sprawling acreage with room to grow and to explore. The school includes classrooms, administrative offices, dormitories, a library, a gymnasium, a music building, and even a private airstrip. The school also features areas designated for vocational training including a working farm and automotive shop, which is a significant part of its educational program.
Although most of our staff and students come from the United States, significant numbers come from all over the world. Although it may vary from year to year, there are often staff representatives from four or five non-English speaking countries. Students may represent up to 10 different countries from around the world as well.
This provides a great opportunity to develop cross-cultural understanding.
