Christi's Story

The goal of Oklahoma Academy is to train up workers for the harvest. This world is a vast field and there is a great need of workers, in fact Seventh-day Adventists Church members make up only 0.36% of the world population! For this reason Oklahoma Academy tries to accept all who wish to gain an education that would equip them to be soul winners. Many come by faith, having little funding to support them in their schooling endeavor. This year we have five worthy students: Luis, Leo, Sian, Muang Pi, and Christi. Without further ado I'll let Christi tell her story.

My name is Christi. I have two sisters, one in high school and one in Elementary. My parents came to the US in 2007. Four years later, in 2011, they were able to get visas for my sister and I to come to the US. Life in Burma was very hard. We didn’t always have much food, clothing and other necessities. We wanted to live a better, happier life.

I lived with my family in Guymon, OK and I went to a private school through grade school.

I heard about OA through teachers and friends from here. I noticed that the people from OA were more like Christ in the way they acted and lived. I wanted to come to OA to find a closer relationship with Christ as well, and to be able to learn more academically and spiritually.

What I like about OA is that the teachers and staff are really nice. And they are always there for us whenever we need help.

My goal for the future is to become a missionary doctor or surgeon wherever God intends me to be. Thank you for all your support and prayers.
