Not What I Expected

By Annelise Jagitsch

Recently I had the opportunity to go on a Messiah’s Mansion trip to Killeen Texas. It was a wonderful experience. I enjoyed giving tours again and watching other people progress through learning their tours.

I gave my last tour of the exhibit to a family of three. The father was extremely interested in the sanctuary as he had done some studies on his own. His wife was quiet but also interested. The son didn’t seem very engaged and he almost seemed impatient in a polite way. When we moved into the courtyard and I began showing Jesus' presence there and how to apply the courtyard to ourselves, he started paying attention. Then he started asking questions. By the time we got to the Most Holy Place, he was asking questions and taking pictures. At the end of the tour, he filled out a survey and thanked me for sharing the information. His dad seemed surprised and his mom had a huge smile on her face. It is exciting to see someone go from disinterested to excited about the Bible and the sanctuary message.

Messiah's Mansion reaches many people. Sometimes we don’t see it immediately but many times people have come to us at the end of a tour and said, “I came through a tour several years ago and now I am a Christian. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.” So even if you don’t see an immediate change in someone’s attitude towards God as I did, don’t worry, you have planted a seed. Now, pray that it grows.
