Seniors of 2017

Reise Jun Campbell

YEARS AT OA:  4

Date of Birth:  Nov. 18, 1999

FAVORITE QUOTES: “Everybody is special. Everybody. Everybody is a hero, a lover, a fool, a villain. Everybody. Everybody has their story to tell.” - Alan Moore

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” - Mahatma Gandhi

THINGS I LIKE TO DO: I love creating. Music and design are huge pasions of mine. I enjoy learning, whether it is a new hobby, or some useless factoid. I enjoy humor, making others smile/laugh lightening the situation. I love spending time with others, hearing their stories/perspectives, and developing relationships.

WHAT I WILL REMEMBER :

The misadventures: Running a political campaign, late night conversations, failed kidnappings, dorm room jam sessions, accidental teacher assassination attempts, science experiments, failed science experiments, hospital visits following said experiments, attempts at a career as a barber, ice cream nights, smoke-filled rooms, playing mafia, and campout.

The people:  The many friends, the many conversations, the debates, the memories made, and the moments shared.

PLANS AFTER GRADUATING FROM OA:

Learn. Not necessarily go to school, but learn.

Avoid debt like Zika or Ebola or the dude who shot Harambe. Live. Not a superficial 9-5 life, but one of action and adventure. Create. Synthesize the beauty in life and share it with others. Love. Love wholeheartedly and unconditionally.

Never regret.

ADVICE TO THOSE WHO WILL FOLLOW:

Live the story you would write for you.

We do not have time to just exist. If we don’t try, don’t risk, don’t fall, don’t learn and don’t strive, we’re probably not living. Falling is not failing. NOT falling is failing. Don’t give up, stop trying or stop believing. Fight all the way down.

You are special and precious. Remember that.

Rachael Kiona Costello

YEARS AT OA: 1

Date of Birth: March 27, 1999

FAVORITE BIBLE VERSE: Colossians 3:12-15, “Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

THINGS I LIKE TO DO: Read, play basketball, create videos, photography, sing, hanging out with friends, bike riding.

ADVICE TO THOSE WHO WILL FOLLOW ME:

Keep your eyes focused on Christ. Don’t get too involved in dorm drama. Always remember that whether or not your family is near or far, you’re always loved.
