Higher Than the Highest

September 5, 2019

On June 27, 2018 Colin O Brady a 34 year old man stood on the highest peak man has ever climbed having made the climb in twenty one days.  Before him another man had broken that record in forty one days and prior to him someone else had tested the limits of how high one could climb.

Our theme for the 2019-2020's school year is "Higher than the Highest." It stems from the E.G. White quote "Higher than the highest human thought can reach is God's ideal for his children." What is higher than highest? In English the suffix -est implies the maximum level anything can reach ie: smallest, tallest, brightest. Inevitably nothing is higher than the highest. During morning worships last week we explored the possibility of what idea Mrs. White was portraying in her book Education and distilled it down to two words. No limit. God's ideal for us is greater than human minds can understand. His standard for us, his children, is so remarkably extraordinary the English language failed to find a word for it.

This year on our blog page I want to explore the depth of what it means to aim higher than highest. Looking deeply into Bible themes, personal testimonies and even nature in order to truly understand the limitless standard of God.
